The rendered Markdown appears here.
Open a .md file or paste Markdown and read it rendered like on GitHub — tables, task lists, highlighted code, math and diagrams. Nothing is uploaded.
How it works
Open or paste Markdown
Drop a .md file on the editor, use Open file, paste text, or load the sample.
Read the rendered page
The preview updates as you type and scrolls with the source. Jump through the table of contents or switch to Preview only.
Export when you need it
Download a standalone HTML file or use Print / PDF to save the document as a PDF.
Features
GitHub-flavored Markdown
Tables, task lists, strikethrough, autolinks, footnotes and GitHub alerts (> [!NOTE]). Switch to strict CommonMark when you need to check portability.
Code highlighting
Fenced code is highlighted for more than 40 languages, including JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Go, Rust, Java, SQL, YAML and shell.
Math and diagrams
Formulas in $…$ and $$…$$ are typeset with KaTeX, and ```mermaid blocks become diagrams. Both load only when a document uses them.
Table of contents and reading mode
Headings get GitHub-compatible anchors and a clickable outline. Light, dark or automatic theme and a comfortable reading width.
Safe rendering
Raw HTML is sanitized and the preview runs in an isolated sandbox: scripts, iframes and javascript: links never run.
Export to HTML and PDF
The HTML export is one file with inline styles, formulas and diagrams, and no scripts. Print / PDF uses your browser’s print dialog.
Limits & privacy
Files and pasted text can be up to 10 MB; documents over 512 KB are rendered in a background worker. Editor highlighting is off above 2 MB. Embedded data: images are shown up to 5 MB each.
Mermaid diagrams need a one-time download of the diagram renderer (about 1 MB compressed). Relative image paths are shown as placeholders. Files also open by https URL (CORS required). See the privacy page.
FAQ
How do I open an .md file in my browser?
Click Open file or drag the .md file onto this page. It is read locally and rendered right away; nothing is sent to a server.
Can I view Markdown files on Android or iPhone?
Yes. Open this page in your mobile browser, tap Open file and pick the file. The Markdown and Preview tabs switch between source and result.
Do I need to install a Markdown viewer on Mac, Windows or Linux?
No. The viewer runs in any modern browser on every system, so there is no app or Chrome extension to install.
Can I edit the .md file online as well?
Yes. The source is editable and the preview follows your changes. For a formatting toolbar and an autosaved draft, use the Markdown Editor.
How do I convert Markdown to PDF?
Click Print / PDF and choose “Save as PDF” in the print dialog. Page breaks and headers depend on your browser.
Why are some images missing in the preview?
Relative paths such as images/logo.png point to files next to the .md file, which a web page cannot read. Use https:// URLs or embedded data: images.
Are my Markdown files uploaded?
No. Rendering happens in your browser. Only remote images in your document are requested from their servers, and you can block them.
